Coming HomeOver the past few months, I've been quietly finding my way back to myself. When I left the corporate world four years ago after burnout, I truly believed I was choosing a different life. A slower life. One where I could finally breathe. What I didn't realise was that I hadn't left the rush behind—I had simply replaced it. Instead of meetings, deadlines and endless emails, my days became filled with launches, courses, websites, social media, new ideas and the constant feeling that I always needed to create the next thing. The environment had changed, but my nervous system hadn't. One of the deepest insights I've had recently came through my own healing. I realised my mum has spent much of her life in a similar cycle. For her, it's always another house, another renovation, another project. Even now, in retirement, there is always something that needs doing before she allows herself to rest. And then I realised... Mine has simply been my business. I've never really allowed it to settle because I've never really allowed myself to settle. For the first time, I understood that this wasn't ambition. It wasn't productivity. It was a nervous system that didn't believe it was safe to stop. That realisation changed everything. I don't share this with blame. I share it with love—for my mum, for myself, and for the generations before us who believed their worth was found in how much they could do. I've decided that this is where the pattern ends. I want to be the healer in my family. The one who remembers that rest, joy and play don't have to be earned. That life isn't waiting somewhere in the future once we've finished one more project. Life is happening now. Over the past few weeks, you've probably noticed me talking about slowing down and changing direction. This is why. I'm no longer interested in building a business that slowly pulls me away from myself. I want to build one that reflects the way I actually want to live—with more intention, more time in nature, more ceremony and more space to simply be. It's also changing the way I hold space. After four years of teaching, learning and healing, I've realised that everything I've explored has been leading me to one simple truth. My soul's purpose is to hold sacred spaces where the body feels safe enough to soften, so healing can unfold naturally from within. A few days ago I made myself a cup of ceremonial cacao. As I stood there holding it, I started crying because I couldn't remember the last time I'd prepared cacao simply for myself. Somewhere along the way, I'd become so busy holding space for everyone else that I'd stopped creating those same moments for me. It reminded me that healing isn't always found in the big breakthroughs. Sometimes it begins by returning to the small rituals that once made us feel connected. I'm still finding my way home. I'm still unlearning. But for the first time in a long time, I don't feel like I'm searching anymore. I feel aligned. I feel clear. And I feel deeply grateful for where this path is leading.
