SUMMER SOLSTICE: Avebury Stone Circle Pilgrimage

  • Avebury Stone Circle Marlborough, England, SN8 1RE United Kingdom (map)

The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year, a sacred threshold where light is at its fullest expression. Across cultures and centuries, this moment has been honoured as a time of expansion, illumination, and deep atunement to the rhythms of the Earth.

Held within the ancient landscape of Avebury Stone Circle, one of the largest prehistoric stone circles in the world, this gathering invites you into a living field of history, mystery, and energy. Dating back over 4,000 years, Avebury remains a place where you can walk freely among the stones, touching, feeling, and connecting with their quiet intelligence and presence.

This day pilgrimage is an invitation to step out of the ordinary and into a ceremonial journey of connection, remembrance, and subtle activation.

We depart 08:30am from Finsbury park Station in North London, or you can meet us directly at Avebury Stone Circle.

We begin the day in an opening circle, gathering together to share our intentions and connect as a community. Through a ribbon ceremony, we will offer our prayers and intentions to the Mother Tree, inviting her wisdom, grounding, and support for the journey ahead.

From there, we move into a shamanic cleansing ritual with sacred smudge, followed by a guided meditation and drumming journey to deepen our connection with the land, the spirits of the place, and ourselves.

We will then enjoy a nourishing vegetarian lunch together, followed by free time to explore the village, browse the local shops and market stalls, journal, rest, or simply wander through the sacred landscape at your own pace.

In the afternoon, we gather at the Sorrow Tree to offer prayers and remembrance to those who lost their lives during the witch hunts and the persecution of the Druids, honouring their legacy with gratitude and respect.

From there, we begin a mindful walk among the ancient stones, pausing at each one to attune to its unique frequency, presence, and wisdom. You will be invited to discover the stone you feel most connected to and spend time alone in reflection, making a personal offering and receiving whatever messages or insights may wish to emerge.

We then meet upon the hilltop, taking in the breathtaking views across this ancient and sacred landscape, allowing a moment of integration and appreciation for the journey we have shared.

Our pilgrimage concludes with a deeply restorative gong bath, followed by a closing circle where we gather one final time to reflect, share, and anchor the intentions and activations received throughout the day.

We will come back together for a deeply immersive closing gong bath, allowing the body, mind, and energy system to fully integrate the day’s activations and experiences, before we gently close the space and begin our journey back.

This is an all-inclusive experience with limited spaces available for those joining the group transport. You are also welcome to join with a meet-up ticket and arrive independently.

Whether this is your first time or a returning pilgrimage, you are warmly welcomed into this circle.

With all our light,
